SpaceX Dragon launch escape demo

Today Space X launched from Cape Canaveral the Falcon 9 booster with the Dragon capsule on top to test the escape in case of failure. After the test was delayed from Saturday launch window to Sunday because of winds Falcon 9 rocket lifted off and throttled down the engines in midflight. The automatic escape system triggered the eight Draco engines on board of the capsule and safely moved away from the booster before Falcon 9 turned into a fireball. Dragon capsule splashed into the ocean after the Mark 3 parachute system deployed.
Right now, SpaceX is recovering the capsule and will examine the data.
This test was the last before astronauts will board the capsule and launch to ISS.

After the space shuttle program canceled, NASA will be able to relaunch astronauts from US soil.
